What I want to highlight is the comment left on this story by ConSuasive, who sums it up quite well.

In general, and according to all my personal run-ins with the police, they are simply no better off than the majority of petty criminals walking our streets. They use violence, intimidation, lying and corroboration of each other's false claims and evidence to intimidate fellow Winnipeggers. Anyone who disagrees probably has a relatively naive, utopian view of our policy service as they very rarely deal with them personally, and always on their own terms.
